Bode,
Hopefully your article would go a long way to make a lot of people
rethink what they perceive Christmas to be all about. Like you
mentioned, Christmas has become a commercialized occasion with
emphasis on materialism and profitability. Such pursuit
emphasized the closure of hearts to letting Jesus, the prince of
peace, come in. Sorry, I am kind of generalizing the situation.
But
let us be specific about some professed Christians! There are some
families who throughout the year did not see the roof of a
church--forget about their contributing any type of offering, never
said a prayer or mention the name 'Jesus' all year, etc. But come
Christmas time, they are in the forefront of making lavish Christmas
decorations. They arrange extended family get-together to sing
carols, and even arrange feasts.
Aren't those kind of believers hypocrites?
Have
a merry Christmas and a happy 2007.
O
